CONSERVATIVES PUT KHAN’S RECORD ON BLAST
He may be patting himself on the back, but we’re not sure why.
People’s Question Time kicked off last night in a half-empty room in Haringey, as the Mayor’s attempts to stop the public from seeing him proved successful. Undeterred, we were not going to let him get away with telling us all how amazing he was.
NEIL GARRATT AM HIGHLIGHTS TFL FAILURES TO VICTIMS
Every year, people are killed on TfL roads and junctions, or as a result of being hit by TfL buses and trains. We hear much about what the Mayor is doing for the drivers involved, but often very little about the victims or their families - and this is because TfL goes to ground and tries to hide when things go bad. We say: enough. Listen to Neil Garratt AM as he speaks to an audience member grieving for her fiance, who was killed on a TfL junction:
THOMAS TURRELL AM: IT’S A POLITICAL CHOICE TO BUILD ON THE GREENBELT
We often hear that there are two choices: protect the greenbelt, or build homes in London. Thomas Turrell AM, in response to a question on protecting our green spaces, rejects the notion entirely: we can do both. There is no reason why we can’t build on brownfield sites, and preserve our green spaces whilst improving biodiversity in the capital. Our green spaces are vital, and we must do what we can to protect them.
KHAN’S HOUSING TARGETS WON’T BE MET UNTIL 2060
Housing is one of the top issues affecting Londoners and we heard many questions from those in the audience about what is being done to help Londoners afford to live our great city. Despite platitudes from the Mayor, we were having none of it - Emma Best AM launched straight into highlighting his failures. Did you know that at current rates, the Mayor won’t deliver his 2026 housing target before 2060? Londoners cannot afford to wait for this - they need affordable homes now.
ALESSANDRO GEORGIOU: LABOUR IS DESTROYING LONDON’S ECONOMY
Sadiq Khan promised Londoners that a Labour Government would give him the wind in his sails, and that they would work together. Well, Sadiq Khan was right: he and the Government have worked very well together when it comes to squashing London’s economy - be it via the National Insurance increase, the cut in Winter Fuel Payment which Sadiq Khan has supported, or the stifling of London’s nightlife under Khan’s tenure. Watch Alessandro Georgiou explain all:
SUSAN HALL DEFENDS SMALL BUSINESSES
It’s not just the Mayor of London who’s making it harder for Londoners - the Labour Government is crippling our economy and taxing businesses into extinction. Talking on GB News this week, Susan Hall took on a left-wing commentator about Labour’s hostility to business owners, sharing her own experience having run a small business. Watch the clash:
