LONDON LOSES WITH LABOUR IN CHARGE
Sir Sadiq Khan finally got his knighthood this week - but the rest of London got squat.
This week’s spending review was disappointing, and the City Hall Conservatives are beyond angry that Labour have chosen to snub our city. Khan has let us down, and so has his mates in Number 10. You can read our full statement below:
THE SPENDING REVIEW: WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES
Khan has spent years telling us how great a Labour Government would be for London, and how a Labour Mayor and Labour Prime Minister could work together to turn our city into a land of milk and honey. This week we found out that that was all nonsense, and in fact when Labour has control, London loses out.
SAVE OUR GREEN SPACES - TRENT PARK UNDER THREAT
Our parks are vital for Londoners, and as the Mayor has told us again and again - they’re the lungs of London. So why is TfL pushing to concrete over Trent Park and build 10,000 homes on it? Alessandro Georgiou AM took Emma Best AM to his patch in Enfield to explore the park and warn about what will happen if Sadiq and TfL get their own way: less parkland for all of us.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIR
This Saturday will be the official birthday of His Majesty The King, with celebrations across the city - and indeed the country - to mark the occasion. From us here at City Hall Conservatives, we’d like to wish His Majesty a happy birthday - God Save The King!
SACKED FOR SWEARING - RIDICULOUS!
You may have seen Susan Hall AM and Lord Bailey AM recently standing up for our police officers at the Police & Crime Committee, questioning officials and police leadership on what is being done to make sure the people who keep us safe are being supported. Susan raised the case of PC Lorne Castle, who was sacked for swearing - at a knife-wielding attacker! As Susan sets out: we all swear when we shouldn’t, but given the circumstances it beggars belief that he should be sacked.
