Save London’s Green Spaces!
Sadiq Khan wants to build on London’s green belt. Help us to stop him!
This week saw the first Mayor’s Question Time of the City Hall municipal year, and we got stuck in right away with hard-hitting questions on topics affecting all corners of London, including Sadiq Khan’s refusal to support a universal Winter Fuel Allowance for pensioners. Take a look below to see what went down! But first…
Save our Green Spaces!
After years of Sadiq Khan telling us that he wanted to keep every single blade of grass in London’s green belt, he has now admitted that he is “actively exploring” building on our precious green spaces. This is a shocking U-turn and a complete betrayal of Londoners’ trust. There is no need for him to do this – if he sped up the glacial pace of housebuilding, there would be more than enough homes without the need to threaten our precious parks.
We need to show the strength of Londoners against this green belt blitz. Please visit saveourgreenspaces.co.uk today and sign our petition – then share it with as many friends as you can!
A year of broken promises
It’s been a year since Sadiq Khan was re-elected as Mayor. In his manifesto, he promised that police numbers would go up and crime would go down. He promised that homes would be built, high rents would be tackled, and green spaces would be protected. And he promised to be the “most pro-business” Mayor ever. Just how have those promises held up? Watch Susan Hall sum up his performance to his face in just 90 seconds.
Why the green-belt U-turn?
Sadiq Khan claims he needs to build on the green belt so that he can hit his housing targets (which ironically have just been lowered by the Labour Government). Lord Bailey wasn’t letting him off that easily: watch as he asks the Mayor about the real reason for his U-turn. Is Rachel Reeves secretly pulling his strings?
Winter Fuel: Sadiq Khan won’t stand up for our pensioners
How many times can Sadiq Khan dodge a question? Well, Emma Best asked him eight times whether he supported the full restoration of the Winter Fuel Allowance, after it was cruelly removed by the Labour Government last year. Take a look below and see if you can spot an answer amongst Sadiq Khan’s waffle.
